Perhaps the most spectacular sight of the Narrabri Shire is Mt Kaputar National Park. Here, there is a huge range of activities for the outdoors lover including bushwalking, camping and sight seeing. From the mountains highest point of 1511 metres there are 360-degree views encompassing one tenth of NSW.

Narrabri Shire is home to the Australian Cotton Centre. With its interactive exhibits, 3D theatrette and cotton picker it really is a must see for the whole family.

A view from Mt. Kaputar, a rugged island of wilderness, towering high above the surrounding Western Plains.	Nandewar Ranges, are the remnants of a volcano which was active 17-20 million years ago. It rises abruptly from the surrounding plains to a height of 1,510 metres at Mount Kaputar.	The road to the Mt. Kaputar National Park. The park's access roads may be closed for indefinite periods following heavy rain and rock falls, or during and after heavy snowfalls in winter.
